Goed Intent businessman robbed by bandits

The police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 1935h last night at Goed Intent, WBD, during which businessman Rohan Bisnauth, 53 years, was attacked and robbed of $220,000.

Police said that Bisnauth and sales clerk Christina Ashram, 19 years of Sisters, WBD, were in the grocery when three men entered, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

The victims were held up, during which Ashram was assaulted about the body and the cash taken away by the perpetrators who escaped in a waiting motor vehicle.

A quick response by the police led to the arrest of the driver of the getaway vehicle at Success, ECD, and he is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
