Suspect held after Goed Intent businessman robbed

Quick response by police led to the arrest of the driver of the getaway car that was used in an armed robbery at Goed Intent, West Bank Demerara during which over $200, 000 was taken and a woman beaten.

Police said in a press release yesterday that they are investigating an armed robbery that occurred around 1935 hours during which businessman Rohan Bisnauth age 53 was attacked and robbed of $220, 000.

Bisnauth, the release added and sales clerk Christina Ashram age 19 of Sisters Village, WBD were in the grocery shop when three men entered, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

The victims were held up, during which Ashram was assaulted about the body and the cash was taken away by the perpetrators who escaped in a waiting motor car.

Later the release said, police arrested the driver at Success, East Coast Demerara and he is in police custody assisting with the investigation.
