Armed robbery carried out with scissors –court hears

Colin Peters of Lot 7 Craig Street, Campbellville is accused of robbing Steven Persaud of one cell phone valued $35,000 on October 8 while he was armed with a scissors.

The court was told that the Virtual Complainant (VC) was walking along Camp Street when the defendant came up armed with a scissors, relieved the VC of the cell phone and made good his escape. The matter was reported to the police and a description was given of the accused. On October 12 the VC saw the defendant and alerted the police and he was subsequently apprehended.

The prosecution had no objection to bail and it was granted and the matter was transferred to court 2 for report and fixture. He is expected to make his next court appearance on November 26.
