Robb Street man jailed for 18 months for breaking and entering

Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday sentenced an 18-year-old DVD vendor to 18 months jail after he pleaded guilty to breaking and entering a dwelling house.

The Georgetown Magistrates’ Court heard that on October 14, Chris Persaud of 102 Robb Street, broke into the dwelling of Shelley McKenzie and stole one Blackberry cell phone valued $33,000 and $130,000 a total value of $163,000.

On the said day, McKenzie secured her home and departed around 7.45 am. Around 2.30 pm she received a
