The Guyana Elections Commission today served notice that October 27 is Nomination Day where lists of candidates for the general and regional elections have to be submitted to the Chief Election Officer.
In a notice in today’s newspapers under the signature of GECOM’s Chairman Dr Steve Surujbally, it was stated that the lists shall be submitted between the hours of 2 pm and 6 pm of October 27th to the Chief Election Officer, Gocool Boodoo at City Hall.
Under Section 9 of the Representation of the People Act Cap. 1:03, the Guyana Elections Commission shall by Notice published in the Official Gazette appoint a day not later than the 32nd before election day on which the lists of candidates may be submitted. General and regional elections will be held on November 28th.
