The court heard that Accra and the virtual complainant (VC) have known each other for some time. On the day in question, the defendant allegedly beat the VC with a piece of wood after he had allegedly stolen $20,000 from him. A sum of $5,000 was repaid to the defendant and but due to the extent of his injuries, Barkley made a police report and the defendant was arrested and charged.

Accra was put on a bond to keep the peace pending the termination of the matter.
