Ulverston women robbed by gunmen

Police today said that at about 1940 h. last night businesswoman Beenawattie Nandalall, 43 years of Ulverston, Corentyne, her daughter Savitri Nandalall, 20 years and neighbour Patricia Parks, 45 years, were attacked and robbed of their gold jewellery, one cell phone, one laptop computer and cash by three men all armed with firearms.

Police say that investigations revealed that Beenawattie and her daughter were in their home when they were confronted by the men who entered through a door which was left open. The perpetrators then placed them to lie on the floor and relieved them of the articles.

Parks who entered Nandalall’s yard during the robbery was also held up and relieved of her jewellery, police say.

Investigations are in progress.
