Ulverston women robbed by gunmen

Gunmen on Tuesday night descended on an Ulverston, Corentyne house and after ordering three women to lie on the floor escaped with jewellery and cash.

Police said in a press release yesterday that around 1940 hours  businesswoman Beenawattie Nandalall, 43 years, her daughter Savitri Nandalall, 20 years and neighbour Patricia Parks, 45 years, were attacked and robbed of their  gold jewellery, one cell phone, one laptop computer and a sum of cash by three men all armed with firearms.

Investigations revealed that Nandalall and her daughter were in their home when they were confronted by the men who entered through a door which was left open. The perpetrators then placed them to lie on the floor and relieved them of the articles.

Parks who entered Nandalall’s yard during the robbery was also held up and relieved of her jewellery. Investigations are in progress.
