Auto dealer charged with breaking into wife’s house

An auto dealer was placed on $100,000 bail when he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on a charge of breaking, entering and stealing from the dwelling house of his common-law spouse of 13 years.

On Thursday it was alleged that on October 16, Kurt Brown, 39, broke into the dwelling house of Rushell Gordon and removed a television set, valued $65,000, a quantity of shoes and clothes, valued $60,000, a fan, valued $10,000, and a pressure cooker, valued $15,000. The man pleaded not guilty to the charge.

After securing her home and going out, the court heard that Gordon returned home and found the window prised open and discovered the items listed in the charge missing. She made a report to the police and an investigation implicated Brown. He was then arrested and charged.

The case will be called in Court 3 on November 8.
