Sharma gives ‘unequivocal support’ to APNU

The Justice For All Party (JFAP) is throwing its weight behind A Partnership For National Unity (JFAP) but its party leader, Chandra Narine Sharma will not be a candidate.

“The JFAP will be represented by candidates on the APNU National Top-Up geographical list. However, the leader of the JFAP, Mr CN Sharma has decided that he will not be a candidate in the 2011 general elections,” Sharma said in a declaration of support for APNU.

APNU official, Lance Carberry told a news conference that Sharma would not be on the list because of health reasons.

Sharma said the decision to embrace APNU with “unequivocal support” came after discussing the coalition’s Statement of Principles and the Unity Charter.
In endorsing the APNU, he said the coalition “offers all Guyanese the greatest opportunity for a better life.

“The Justice For All Party fully supports the commitment of APNU to establish a government of national unity and therefore, urge all of our members and supporters to fully support the APNU at the forthcoming,” Sharma said in a statement.
