The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha (GHDS) says Deepavali has earned national recognition and is celebrated across cultures as the nation continues to forge unity. In a press release President of the GHDS Reepu Daman Persaud said the spectators at the Deepavali motorcade, one of the public events hosted for the festival, demonstrates “the broad outlook of the multi-religious community.”
He also noted that that there is no doubt that the festival will infuse the nation with harmonious feelings and fraternity which must be fostered for a happy and prosperous nation.
