Faith-based NGO hosts 3-day domestic violence conference

In an effort to help address the problem of domestic violence here, Operation World Care Network (OCWN) will host a three-day conference from today.

The conference aims to address the spiritual, physical and psychological elements of domestic violence with a view to equipping and empowering men, women and children to deal with the causes and effects of this atrocity, a release said.

OCWN is a faith-based NGO, founded in St Maarten by Guyanese couple Bishop Lewis Jones and Apostle Sandra Jones, a release stated.

The conference consists of day and night sessions. The day sessions start from 10 am and will be held at the Central Assembly of God (Diplomat Centre). Evening sessions will be held at the National Park from 6 pm. The conference will conclude with a concert on Saturday evening at the National Park.  Admission is free.

Similar conferences have been held over the past few weeks in Bush Lot, Corentyne and Bartica, the release indicated.
