Bagotstown motorcyclist succumbs after crash

Twenty–five-year-old Hubert Hunte, the motorcyclist who collided with a minibus close to the Demerara Harbour Bridge (DHB) on Wednesday evening, succumbed to his injuries yesterday morning at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Hunte’s mother Debra Primo told this newspaper this morning that her son passed away around 1:30 am yesterday. He sustained major head injuries following the collision.

Relatives told this newspaper at the GPH on Wednesday evening that the seaman was   heading south along the Bagotstown Public Road around 6 pm last evening when he collided with the minibus which crossed his path and which was heading east into Peter’s Hall close to the DHB. Hunte was flung from his motorcycle and landed close to the M&M Snackette.

The driver of the minibus was later taken into custody at the Providence Police Station.
