A miner was early this morning shot and robbed of over $4M in cash by an armed robber while in the vicinity of Mandela Avenue and Hunter Street.
Reports are that Kenneth Joaquin, 57, was on his way to Houston, when upon coming to a halt at a traffic light, the suspect walked up to the car, opened the door and demanded the bag with money. After having confiscated the loot, the bandit shot Joaquin in his thigh and escaped on a motorcycle.
Joaquin is currently at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
