Saints wins Climate Change schools’ quiz

St Stanislaus College beat 15 other secondary schools to win the first Climate Change – LCDS Secondary Schools Quiz.

According to a press release, the Quiz was organised by the Office of Climate Change in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and NCN.

The programme was broadcast on NCN. It featured 16 secondary schools from all ten regions and was moderated by veteran broadcaster and quizmaster Dr Rovin Deodat. In the final, Saints contended with Berbice High School and emerged victorious.

At the prize-giving ceremony, Shyam Nokta, head of the Office of Climate Change, congratulated the teams that made it to the finals and thanked all the schools for participating. In addition, students from all the teams were given special tokens for participating and gifts for wining each match as the competition progressed. Saints received the winners’ trophy and a trip to Kaieteur Falls.
