New Cabinet to be sworn in today

President Donald Ramotar is set to swear in his cabinet at 1 pm today at State House and sources say Manniram Prashad an

d Manzoor Nadir will not be retained while Priya Manickchand will be moved from the Human Services Ministry to Education.

Sources say there is unlikely to be room in the Cabinet for Minister of Education Shaik Baksh. In what would be another significant change, sources say that Agriculture Minister Robert Persaud will be shifted to the Office of the President.

Bishop Juan Edghill is likely to be appointed a junior minister in one of the ministries while Jennifer Webster will move from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security.

Sources say that Minister of Health Dr Leslie Ramsammy will be shifted to a new portfolio.
