Molotov cocktails thrown at Lumumba’s house

Two molotov cocktails were yesterday morning thrown at the home of presidential adviser Odinga Lumumba, causing a small fire which was subsequently extinguished.

The police are currently investigating the incident, a release said last evening. According to the police, the incident occurred around 2 am yesterday where the two incendiary devices were thrown at Lumumba’s Kiskadee Drive, Meadow Brook home. “The devices struck the bottom western wall of the home, resulting in a small fire that scorched the wall and which was extinguished by the security guard on duty,” the police said.

Contacted last evening, Lumumba, who served as presidential adviser on empowerment to former president Bharrat Jagdeo, said he could not speak at the time and told this newspaper to contact him this morning.

Lumumba, no stranger to controversy was last in the news for allegedly assaulting a presiding officer and damaging the cellular phone of an elections observer from the Electoral Assistance Bureau (EAB) on Elections Day.  Lumumba subsequently apologized for his actions and paid for the damaged phone.
