Body of man found in Charlestown

According to residents in the area, the man was seen lying on the pavement around 5 am yesterday and he appeared lifeless.

He was lying on a piece of cardboard when the discovery was made.

The man appeared to have died from natural causes and residents noted that he suffered from tuberculosis.

A woman in the area told Stabroek News that she saw persons passing and looking at the man around 6 am yesterday and according to her, he must have died during the night.

She said that the man walks around the La Penitence market as well as the Bourda Market doing odd jobs.

Police were at the scene yesterday morning carrying out investigations.

The man’s body is lying at the Lyken’s Funeral Parlour in the city.
