T&T car rental businessman murdered

(Trinidad Express) A 72-year-old car rental businessman was killed by three men posing as customers.

Reports are that around 5.30 p.m. on Saturday, Joshua Henry was at his Paria Avenue, Lange Park, Chaguanas home when three men called out to him. He went outside and was shoved back inside his home by the men who were armed with an unidentified object.

His wife and two children, one son and daughter who were home at the time were bound and gagged. Henry was hit on the head with a blunt object and was taken to a bathroom.

When his family managed to free themselves, they found Henry’s lifeless body on the floor with a sheet tied around his neck.

They called 999.

Police officers from the Chaguanas Police Station led by Senior Superintendent Edward Castillo, Superintendent Johnny Abraham and Inspector Wayne Lawrence visited the scene. Investigations are continuing and an autopsy is expected to be performed tomorrow.

Yesterday when the Express visited Henry’s home, family members said they were unwilling to speak to the media. This brings the murder toll for the year to 328.
