Police probing Issano Landing, Liverpool murders

Police are probing two murders that occurred at Issano Landing, Mazaruni River and Liverpool, Corentyne.

In a statement today, the police said that they are investigating the murder of miner Carl Francis, 24 years of Dog Point, Essequibo, which occurred at about 2100h, on December 14, 2011.

Investigations revealed that Francis was imbibing when it is reported that an argument erupted between him and another man during which he was fatally stabbed.

The suspect has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.

Police are also probing the murder of cane-harvester Quacy Grey, 26 years of Manchester, Corentyne, which occurred at about 2330h last night at Liverpool.

Investigations revealed that  Grey was imbibing at a liquor shop when he became involved in an argument with a man during which he was fatally stabbed.

The suspect has not been arrested as yet.
