The section of roadway in front of the Guyana Elections Commission (Gecom) headquarters, which was closed during the recent elections period, was yesterday reopened to vehicular traffic.
According to a police press release, with effect from yesterday, traffic was being allowed to proceed north along High Street, between Cowan Street and Barrack Street, Kingston, Georgetown.
The road had been closed to all traffic as part of the security arrangements for the recent General and Regional Elections, the release said.
