(De Ware Tijd) PARAMARIBO — Recently, President Desi Bouterse also revoked the casino license his predecessor Ronald Venetiaan had granted to Best Western Elegance Hotel. The reasons why are still unclear.
Top executives of the hotel do not want to confirm whether the licence has been revoked. De Ware Tijd was only told by one that there are “indications’” the government wanted to revoke the licence.
It is yet unclear whether Best Western will also take the government to court. Previously City Entertainment that had also lost its licence took the government to court and got its licence back.
