Prosecutor granted more time in Babita Sarjou nude photos case

Prosecutor Vishnu Hunt on Wednesday made an application for extra time to have additional statements filed in the harassment matter of Babita Sarjou in which her estranged husband is accused of publicizing nude photos of her.

The adjournment to February 24 was granted by Magistrate Geeta Chandan-Persid Edmond before whom the case is being heard at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The allegation against Anand Narine is that on August 31, 2010 at George-town, he exposed pictures of Sarjou to public view to corrupt public morals.

Narine is alleged to have plastered copies of a nude picture of his former wife Sarjou in public including on the fence of her then place of employment, BK International.

The man denied the charge and was admitted to bail in the sum $75,000.

The accused was present at court on Wednesday.

Sarjou has been missing for several months now and her mother has made appeals to the public for information on her whereabouts.
