Fiedtkou, 23, of East Ruimveldt, was in the company of a few friends standing in an alleyway a short distance from Well Street, North Ruimveldt when he was shot just after 9 pm. Reports are that the gunman walked up to him and opened fire.

Fiedtkou’s close relatives, many of whom were at the hospital, had no details since they received a call saying that he was shot.

However, eyewitness accounts which were relayed to them indicate that Fiedtkou was being trailed prior to the shooting.

“It sound like these people trail he. Because he went home and then he went to north, which is routine and a strange car was in the area just before the shooting,” a friend told this newspaper last night.

Fiedtkou who was popularly known was “Tookie” left his home some time before 9 pm, according to his mother, Simone.

She said he left for North Rumiveldt and shortly after someone called with the distressing news.

“My son was home and we had a little conversation and next thing I know he is in hospital with a gunshot wound,” a distraught Richards related.  The woman said Fiedtkou had no problems with anyone, “at least not that I know of”. She said her son breeds pit bulls and would spend his time between home and friends at North Ruimveldt.

One of Fiedtkou’s friends said last night that he was told that the gunman was wearing a hood when he approached and shot Fiedtkou.

He said it would have been difficult for anyone to make out the man’s face, but the wounded Fiedtkou might have had the best view of the man who shot him.]

The friend said also that a strange car was in the area at the time of the shooting, adding that the gunman was believed to have exited the vehicle and shot Fiedkou before fleeing in the same car.
