Two dead, six hurt in Jamaica drive-by

(Jamaica Observer) Two persons were killed and six others are nursing injuries they suffered after being shot by gunmen at the intersection of Tower Street and South Camp Road in Kingston last evening.

Dead are 33-year-old Kino Mitchell, otherwise called ‘Ninja’ of Tower Street, and 17-year-old Romario Myers of Stephen Lane, both in Kingston 16.

Information received from the Elletson Road Police is that about 7:45 pm, several persons were at the intersection when men in a grey Toyota Corolla motorcar drove up armed with high-powered weapons. The gunmen reportedly opened fire at the group, resulting in eight persons being shot. They were all taken to hospital where Mitchell was pronounced dead and Myers died while being treated. Two persons have been released, while the other four remain hospitalised.

Investigations continue.
