Agricola man denies assault and threatening behaviour charges

A 31-year-old man who is charged with assault causing actual bodily harm and threatening behaviour was yesterday placed on $20,000 bail and put on a bond to keep the peace until his trial is over by Magistrate Sueanna Lovell at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

Sean Bacchus of Second Street, Agricola, is accused of assaulting Malinda Mustapha on October 4 while using threatening language to the Virtual Complainant (VC) the same day.

The prosecutor told the court that on the day in question the VC went home and fell asleep. When the defendant got home he allegedly lashed the VC on the foot and subsequently placed a chopper to Mustapha’s abdomen.

The mason/carpenter pleaded not guilty to the charges and the matter was adjourned until November 11.
