Shotguns found after shooting of Zorg-en-Vlygt man

At about 1630h. yesterday Police ranks responded to a report received that Seymour Patrick, 47 years of Zorg-en-Vlygt, Essequibo Coast, had been shot and injured to his left leg.

A police release today said that ranks went into the backdam at Zorg-en-Vlygt where a search was conducted and two improvised 12 gauge shotguns along with a 12 gauge cartridge and an empty shell were found.

Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of a man in whose possession was found another improvised 12 gauge shotgun and two cartridges, the release said.

He is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
