Ramroop, four companies sue SN, Tony Vieira

Businessman Ranjisinghi Ramroop and four companies that he is a director of have sued Guyana Publications Limited, publishers of Stabroek News and the Sunday Stabroek and Anthony Vieira.

The lawsuit stems from a letter written by Vieira and published in the November 21st edition of SN entitled `How did QA11 get its concessions’.

Ramroop and the four companies: Queens Atlantic Investment Incorporated, New GPC Inc, Global Printing and Graphics and Guyana Times Inc. are seeking damages in excess of $100M from Vieira, damages in excess of $100M from GPI and damages of $100M from HBTV Chanel 9 for a separate broadcast.

In Chambers following an ex parte application by way of affidavit  by Ramroop, Justice Diana Insanally  on December 5th granted an interim instruction restraining Vieira, GPI and HBTV from broadcasting the material complained of. The matter is returnable for December 20th.
