Concepts for the Indigenous peoples

Dear Editor,

My wish is that ‘Amerindian Dreams for Development’ be recognized, for the Indigenous people too have concepts and goals. Here under are two of those concepts:

Firstly, establish a hinterland railway system from Linden to Lethem which should also link the Indigenous communities. This would enhance cheap travel, economic activity, tourism, education and health, and encourage cottage industries.

Secondly, establish a radio transmitting station at Kato, Region 8 targeting Patamona, Akawaio and Macushi peoples. This would greatly boost the delivery of education, economic activity and health, and enhance awareness of the cultural, traditional and global sectors.

It would also stimulate a diversified programme schedule for first peoples from Guyana, Venezuela and Brazil.

Yours faithfully,
Ashton Simon
