If our police can’t catch the thieves on land what about the pirates who have the open sea as well as harbours to run to?
The only answer for our fishermen is for the minister of Home Affairs Mr Rohee to give them gun licences; only when our fishermen have guns will piracy come to an end. As one paper said about two years ago, only the white-collar men in Georgetown have guns to protect their wives and children, but do some of these people deserve guns before the fishermen? Minister Robert Persaud should recommend guns licences for rice farmers and fishermen, since both fall under his ministry.
