Not every motorist is a sheep

Dear Editor,

I refer to the letter written by Robert Seemangal about drivers being at the mercy of traffic police (‘Drivers at the mercy of traffic police,’ SN, July 18). What Mr Seemangal took the courage to expose is what many other motorists would like to do, but are afraid of victimization.

Of course there is the genuine policeman and there is the criminal in police clothes, so what Mr Seemangal has written would not stop the harassment and ‘rip-off.’ But those criminals in police clothes now know their acts are not going unnoticed. Not every motorist is a sheep; Robert Seemangal must be admired.

Yours faithfully,
WP George
