Dear Editor,
Your editorial of August 25 captioned ‘Murdering the elderly,’ posited a strategy which you implied may deter the murder of elderly persons because they won’t be living alone, but it failed to address the phenomenon of having persons in our society callous enough to commit such acts. Severe punishment meted out to those capable of such cruelty would be a better deterrent.
