Ramotar should make a genuine effort to reach out to the opposition parties in parliament

Dear Editor,
According to the constitution Donald Ramotar  is the legitimately elected President of Guyana, and no one should dispute that. On the other hand, over 50% of the electorate voted for the opposition parties and as such they cannot be left out of the decision-making process. In the circumstances I trust that President Ramotar will make a genuine effort to reach out to the two other parties in the parliament and get them involved in the management of the affairs of Guyana.

One thing is certain, in spite of how much difference there is between the two sides, when they meet at the negotiating table they will find they are not so far apart after all.

I congratulate Donald Ramotar and offer him my full support. To David Granger, Rupert Roopnaraine, Khemraj Ramjattan, Raphael Trotman and not forgetting Peter Persaud, I say you carried out a vigorous campaign to get votes so let us all work in harmony to make Guyana once again the showpiece of the Caribbean.
Yours faithfully,
Wendell P George
