GFF signs four-year contract with Plus One

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) kicked off the New Year on a positive note by sealing a four-year renewable sponsorship with the Plus One company and made it official with a signing of the contract at the GFF office yesterday.

GFF President Colin Klass stated that the sponsorship was in excess of US$350,000 annually. It will help to  equip national teams at all levels.

Also present at the signing was Plus One’s Vice President of Marketing Donna Wilson and General Secretary of the GFF Noel Adonis. Wilson stated that her company was happy to be associated with the GFF and its programmes and said she hoped that they both have a long working relationship over the years.“Last year we said that we are going to sign a major deal but didn’t want to pre-empt what was really going to happen, but this is what we were talking about and I must say how happy I am on the GFF’s behalf because we all know how the cost of equipment had us in the past, so let me say thanks to Plus One for making this come true,” said Klass.

He added:“In the past, we would have the senior players not being able to exchange t-shirts after games because if that happened we would not have had any left. “But now we would be able to look more like a national team and I must say that this is a huge burden that has been lifted from us and with that we will are more happy.”

The company will also make available to the GFF, replica T-Shirts at whole sale prices and even market them on their (Plus One) website (www.plusoneusa.com).

Klass uttered: “this is certainly a great deal that’s why it took a couple of months to get off, because they also market our T-shirts on their website and more so we will have them to  retail at an affordable price because what happened in the past was people would make T-shirts of our team and then the GFF ends up with nothing from it, but again I must say we are very happy with this deal.”

Wilson also said “we had a lengthy discussion so that’s why the deal took so long to get off the ground because both parties wanted to make sure that the deal is just right and they both will benefit from it so we at Plus One will make sure we live up to our end of the bargain. We are more than looking forward to this deal because Guyana is on a rebuilding stage and has teams at all levels. We will also be giving them balls and so on apart from clothing.”
