Super Sixes cricket competition underway

The first week of the ongoing Schools ‘Super Sixes’ softball cricket action has concluded with more teams recording wins in the competition.

In games played during the week, North West Secondary School convincingly defeated Hosororo Primary School ‘A’ team after batting first and posting 56 for 4.

In response, Hosororo were bowled out for 21 runs.
Hosororo Primary’s ‘B’ team suffered the same fate as their ‘A’ side when they went up against Wauna Primary School. Hosororo `B’ won the toss, chose to bat and made 66 for one, thanks to a 56 run opening partnerships between David Harry (33) and Troy Mc Lennon (22).

Wauna Primary in response reached 69 for 3 in 4.4 overs.
In other matches, Township Transformers lost to Barabina. Barabina won the toss, chose to field and dismissed Township Transformers for 49 runs.
In reply Barabina reached 50-3 from
5.4 overs.

Playing their first match of the tournament, Mabaruma Settlement went under to Township Transformers in another Super Six matchup. Township Transformers won the toss and inserted Mabaruma settlement, who made 43 all out from their six overs.

In reply Township Transformers reached 44 without loss in 4.4 overs.
Meanwhile, Wauna Secondary lost to North West ‘B’ team. Sent in Wauna made 48 all out in 5.4 overs with North West `B’ reaching 54 without loss in just two overs.

In the village competition Wauna defeated Barabina. Wauna batting first scored 34 all out from 5.3 overs while Barabina reached the required total in just 3.1 overs for the loss of two wickets.
