Adverse weather forces venue change

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Rain has forced a change in venue for title-holders Trinidad and Tobago’s opening clash with Guyana in the West Indies Under-15 Championship which starts today.
The contest has been moved from the Inshan Ali Park in Couva in Central Trinidad to Avidesh Samaroo Park in Chaguanas, also in the central part of the country.

President of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board, Azim Bassarath said quick action was needed to negate the adverse effects of the seasonal rains.

He said this was in an attempt to ensure there was cricket for the better part of each of the two days allocated for each match.

Jamaica’s clash with Windward Islands which will now take place at Honeymoon Park in Tacarigua after being originally carded for Monroe Road in Cunupia.

Bassarath also revealed that the second round match featuring Leeward Islands and Guyana slated for Wilson Road in Penal from July 5-6, has also been shifted but the new venue is yet to be confirmed.
Inclement rain has affected the country in recent days.
