Chanderpaul top scores for Guyana

Tagnarine Chanderpaul, the son of West Indies player Shivnarine Chanderpaul, top scored with 37 but could not find support from team member, as Jamaica took first innings points over Guyana at Honeymoon Park, in the opening day of the 4th round clash.

Batting first, Jamaica made 120/8 off their 32 overs with Ramaal Lewis getting 25 not out and Ryan Scott 32. Nial Smith took 2/18 and Michel Shalim 2/28. Guyana in reply were restricted to 95 for eight off their 32 overs.

In the day’s other clash Trinidad and Tobago Under-15 cricketers took first innings points over Barbados on the second and final day of their rain affected third round Regional Under-15 clash at Gilbert Park in California.

After the entire first day was washed out, the players got in some action and Barbados took first strike. The visitors made 89 for seven off 33 overs with opener Lee Gaskin leading the way with 34. Only two other batsmen got into double figures and they were Kyle Hinkson and skipper Joshua Drakes both of whom made 12. The pick of the bowlers for Trinidad and Tobago were Shane Smith 3/18 and Afdal Dean 2/15.

T&T in reply got to 118 for nine off their 33 overs taking the first innings points. Leading the way for the locals was wicketkeeper/batsman Nicholas Pooran who got 20. He was ably supported by Justin Joseph 18 and Jesse Bootan 17. Bowling for Barbados Chad Williams claimed 5/47 and Romar Millar two wickets for two runs.
