Second day’s play in Guyana, Jamaca U-19 match abandoned

Overnight showers and poor drainage caused the abandonment of the second day’s play of Guyana’s second round match against Jamaica in the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Regional Under-19 Championships at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) Ground, Bourda yesterday.

Although the sun in the Capital City was shining fairly hot for the majority of the afternoon session, as aforementioned, the poor drainage at Bourda, meant that the outfield was not drying fast enough, which  forced the umpires Nadkumar Shivsankar and Erickson Degalerie to call off play for the second consecutive day at 12:45 pm without a ball being bowled.

One can only hope with the improved weather seen yesterday, that the players may be able to get some action on the final day today.
