Arch rivals DCC, GCC clash in Pee Wee final

The in-form Demerara Cricket Club (GCC) and the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) will clash today in the Tropical Mist Pee Wee cricket final at Thirst Park ground starting at 14:00 hours.
The final suffered two postponements due to rain and the organizers will be looking for improved weather to run off the match.

The tournament is organized by Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) and sponsored by Banks DIH Limited under the Tropical Mist brand.

The 20-overs-a-side encounter will showcase some emerging stars with the DCC line up expected to include captain Shemar DeSouza, all-rounder Travis Persaud, Ronaldo Renee, medium pace bowler Angod Rupee and Xavier Smith who has so far taken the most wickets in the tournament.

The Bourda boys will be captained by all-rounder Ali Mohamed with support expected from Raymond Pereze (spin bowler and prolific batsman) and batsman Sammy McKenzie.

DCC played unbeaten in the preliminary competition but GCC will be going all out to stop their opponents’ unbeaten run.

The umpires are Newton Parks and Nigel Hawke with the standby being Shaun Massiah.
The scorer will be Neil Barry Jr. Prizes will be awarded to the winners and runners up, best bowler of the final, best batsman of the final, best fielder and most valuable player of the final.

Officials of Banks DIH will be on hand to assist in the presentation of prizes at the end of the match.
