Montour overjoyed by response to farewell tourney

Outgoing Canadian High Commissioner Francois Montour said he was overjoyed by the response of golfers who took part  in the specially arranged farewell tournament in his honour  yesterday at the Lusignan Golf Club (LGC).
Over 45 players took part in the mid-week tournament that was won by Lakram Ramsudar.

“The turnout demonstrated your appreciation to me and my participation in the club for the past two years, sincere thanks to all of you for welcoming me,” High Commissioner Montour said.

He noted  that his time at the club was fun. “I have played, have fun and enjoyed good talks after tournaments and I am also taking back a few trophies that will be displayed over my fireplace.”

LGC President Brian Hackett thanked the players for attending the tournament and expressed appreciation to members who organized the event including Chairman of Banks DIH Clifford Reis, staff of the club and Club Captain Brian Glasford.
Ramsundar won on a countback from Ian Gouveia after both players shot net scores of 68.
Third Place went to Patrick Prashad with net 69.

Nearest to the Pin was Colin Ming while Ronald Bulkan had  the longest putt.
The tournament was originally planned for Monday last (Emancipation Day) was was postponed due to inclement weather.
