MYO hosting inter-Jamaat 10/10 knock-out softball contest

The Muslim Youth Organization (MYO) of Guyana and Raf’s Variety Store First Annual Hajjin Zeleena Rafeek Memorial countrywide Inter-Jamaat 10/10 knock-out softball cricket match is set for Sunday.

Kick off is set for the MYO ground which will see the Success Jamaat going against Dundee Jamaat at 9am. A keen contest is expected as both teams are hyped up for their encounter. The sponsor is also expected to attend the game.

The competition has attracted participation from 46 masjids and is divided into five zones. Zone A (Essequibo): Bartica, Wakenaam, Leguan, Aurora, Fairfield, Adventure/Johanna Cecelia, Affiance, Lima and Anna Regina. Zone B (Berbice): Yakusari/Black Bush Polder, Fyrish A, Fyrish B, Skeldon, De Edward, Cotton Tree, Bush Lot, Rose Hall and Albion; Zone C (Georgetown/East Coast):  Dundee, Good Hope, LBI A, LBI B, Ogle, MYO, Queenstown, Unity, Enmore Estate, Old Mosque, New Mosque, Plaisance, Success and Turkeyen; Zone D (West Bank/West Coast): La Grange, Windsor Forest A, Windsor Forest B, Bell West Canal # 2,  Blankenburg, Cornelia Ida, Le Destin and Wales/Sisters Village and Zone E (East Bank): Land of Canaan, Grove, Diamond, Farm A, Farm B and Farm C. Teams are vying for over $600,000 in cash and prizes.
The other fixtures are as follows:

On Sunday: Zone C (Georgetown/East Coast) at the MYO Ground from 9am, Dundee vs Success; at 11am, Ogle vs Unity; at 1pm. Good Hope vs LBI A and at 3pm Plaisance vs LBI B.

Zone D (West Bank/West Coast) at the Windsor Forest Centre Ground from 9am, Blankenburg vs Windsor Forest A; at 11am, Cornelia Ida vs Le Destin; at 1pm, Belle  West  vs La Grange and at 3pm Wales/Sisters Village vs Windsor Forest B.

In Zone E (East Bank) at the Diamond Ground from 10 am, Grove vs Farm A; at 12pm, Land of Canaan vs Farm B and at 2pm Diamond vs Farm C.
