Top stables to run in sprint events today at Alness

The Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facilities (RCMTC&SF) will run off a number of sprint events today from 13:00 hours at the club’s facility at Alness, Corentyne, Berbice.

Many of the top stables have entered horses for the meet that will only have sprint events. Asraf Alli Stables of Upper Corentyne have seven entries in Prado’s Gold, Gold Plated, Red Cloud, Cutting Crystal, Foolish Pleasure and It’s My Time.

The Elcock Stables, which will be on home turf, have four horses entered that have wins at major events in the past, starting with Delmur Gold, Momzelle, Face the Music and Miracle Run.

West Coast Berbice’s Sherriff Stables also have four entries and the hope is that Dubai Duchess will continue its fine run as it did for the past four meets.

Other horses from the Sherriff Stables are Zelona, Majestic and Damascus Dream.

The Habibulla Stables entered The Bailiff and Dream Girl; Jagdeo Stables entered Celebrating Love and Bio Fuel; Jumbo Jet Chattergoon Stables have South Sea; Grey Stables have Funny Sided and Infinity, while other horses like Work Force and Apostle of the Nelson Stables have also been registered.

The feature race of the day is the E1 and Lower, sponsored by Ansa Mc Al (Guyana) Limited for a winning prize of $300,000 and trophy. All the races will be run over a distance of 1,200m.

The Three-year-old race for Guyana and West Indies bred horses, classified G1 and Lower, has the winner’s prize set at $250,000 and trophy while the other G1 and Lower race will run for a $200,000 markup and trophy.

The first of two Two-year-old events is for horses bred and born in Guyana and the West Indies with the winner copping the $200,000 prize and trophy while in the second race the winner will take home $170,000 and trophy.

The H3 and Lower race also has a winning purse of $170,000 while the I-1 winner will take away $140,000. Horses classified J, K and L round out the day’s roster, with the winner taking the $70,000 bacon.

Champion jockeys and runners-up, along with top stables and trainers, will be awarded prizes, compliments of Trophy Stall, Bourda Market, and the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facility.
