Martin to become fourth to 200 wickets

New Zealand fast bowler Chris Martin is poised to become the fourth bowler in the country’s cricket history to take 200 Test wickets.

Martin, who has 199 wickets from 61 Tests, can achieve the feat during New Zealand’s one-off Test against Zimbabwe starting November 1. the 36-year-old will join New Zealand’s 200-plus club, which currently includes Richard Hadlee (431), Daniel Vettori (344) and Chris Cairns (218).

Martin, however, says that it will not matter if his 200th victim is an unknown player.

“I’m not really worried who it might be, it will be just pretty special I guess,” stuff.co.nz quoted Martin, as saying. (BBC)
