Twenty/20 Cricket Competition…Rose Hall Town, Young Warriors through to semis

After a weekend of the final preliminary rounds, Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets and Young Warriors have earned their places in the semi-finals of the inaugural Universal DVD Club First Division Twenty/20 Cricket Competition in Berbice.

Led by Renwick Batson who slammed 66 (9×4, 2×6), his second consecutive half century, and 34 from Dominic Rikhi, Rose Hall Town made 160 for 4 against Skeldon Community Centre who could only reply with 103 all out. Rose Hall’s all-rounder Rajiv Ivan, bowling off-spin took 4 for 6.

In their second match of the weekend, spearheaded by Ivan who picked up a second 4-wicket haul, 4 for 16, leg-spinner Shawn Pereira taking 3 for 26, and 55 not out (4×4, 2×6) from Rikhi, Rose Hall Town beat Police “B” Division to end their preliminaries unbeaten and on top of Group B with 16 points.

Richard Ramdeen took 2 for 17 with his left arm spin and then came back with the bat and scored 37 ( 3×4, 1×6) to see Young Warriors to victory over West Berbice to end their Group B prelims with 12 points, leaving them as runners-up to Rose Hall Town going on to the semis.

two victories over the weekend to end on 8 points, missing out on the semi-finals. Led by a good all-round performance from Krishnadat Ramoo who scored 33 not out, which together with 39 not out from Steffon Adams

Renwick Batson

and 32 from Raffiel Estriado, saw them posting 156 for 3 against Police “B” Division. Ramoo then came back with his off-spin and took 4 for 11 from 4 overs and this together with pacer Keon Joseph picking up 3 for 17, helped to bowl their team to a 78-run win.
