Barbados draw first blood in Inshan Ali Series

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – A penetrative spell of fast-medium bowling from Shakeel Turney set Barbados Under-13s up for a five-wicket victory over Trinidad & Tobago Under-13s in the Inshan Ali One-day Trophy Series on Tuesday.

Turney grabbed four wickets for 11 runs from 7.2 overs, as T&T were dismissed for a paltry 76 in 33.2 overs after being sent in to bat at the Desmond Haynes Oval.

No T&T batsman reached 20 and left-hander Brandon Maharaj with 13 and tailender S. Batoosingh with 11 were the only double-figure contributors.

The Barbadians successfully chased their victory target, hitting the jackpot with 76 balls remaining.

Tremaine Harris hit the top score of 17, Hasani Newton and Deswin Currency gathered 14 apiece.

Barbados take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
