Bryan and Lowe most outstanding players at Table Tennis Nationals

National table tennis players Nigel Bryan and Trenace Lowe were named the most outstanding players at  the 2011 Table Tennis Nationals at the award ceremony on Wednesday evening at the Police Officers Mess Hall.

Bryan was a force to be reckoned with during the tournament, claiming four titles which included three individual titles at the recently-concluded nationals at the National Gymnasium.

The eighteen-year-old won the junior mixed doubles, the 18-and-under title, the 21-and-under and the men’s singles title; which saw him making history as the first junior to claim a senior and junior title at the table tennis nationals.

“I think the award ceremony was good…the tournament was a good one for me and I’m just happy that I had so much success,” the young racket wielder told Stabroek Sport.

Meanwhile Lowe was nothing short of spectacular also at the tournament as she too claimed four titles in fine fashion.

Ever focused and always on top of her game, Lowe captured the mixed doubles, the women’s doubles, the 21-and-under title and the women’s singles title.

At the presentation ceremony both president of the Guyana Table Tennis Association Henry Greene and Director of Sport Neil Kumar in their speeches congratulated the players and wished them well for the holidays and the New Year while hoping for the advancement of table tennis in Guyana.
