Barbados win again in low-scoring contest

BASSETERRE, St Kitts, CMC – Unbeaten Barbados were poised to formally clinch the St Kitts Under-13 Festival title yesterday after chalking up their fifth straight win in the sixth round of the tournament on Sunday.

The defending champions easily saw off Dominicaby six wickets in a low-scoring contest at Warner Park to maintain their perfect record.

Chasing a paltry target of 61 for victory, Barbados comfortably eased home guided by Leniko Boucher who hit an unbeaten 20. Brian Joseph finished with three for 38.

Earlier, Dominica were routed by Shammar Springer (4-11) with Deswin Currency (2-2), Tremaine Harris (2-10) and Jadeja Edwards (2-16) all claiming two wickets apiece.

In another low-scoring match at Elquemedo Willet Park in Nevis, the home team trounced Anguilla by 10 wickets.

Anguilla were dismissed for 49 all out off 16.2 overs with Ryani Ferguson snatching five wickets for nine runs and Darez Daniel (2-8) and Azeem Bickarmajeet (2-12) getting two apiece.

Nevis cruised to 50 without loss off 11 overs with Ras Powell scoring 30 not out.

At the Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex, St Kitts beat the St Kitts Development Team by eight wickets.
