Star Boys blast quick goals for comfortable victory

Star Boys Ralph Alexander and Jermaine Mc Bean recorded two of the tournament’s fastest goals on the fifth night of action in the inaugural Linden Guinness Greatest of the Streets Futsal competition at the Silver City Hard court on Wednesday night.

Alexander scored in the 21st second of the first minute while  Mc Bean doubled the lead in the 51st second.

Star Boys further extended their lead when Jermaine Grandison scored in the second and 16th minutes in their 4-1 victory over Street Vybes. Dwayne Thomas scored a consolation goal for Street Vybes.

Later in the night Ituni defeated Fire Storm 4-1 with goals from  Shawn Cameron (9th and 11th), Neville Adrian (17) and Richard James’s (19th).

Fire Storm’s lone goal came off the boots of Cleon Fernandes.

Hard Knocks defeated Trainline Warriors 2 – 1 with Randy Small (5th) and Ronnel Bristol (12th) scoring for the victors and Troy Miller (2nd) netting for Trainline Warriors while Commacka scored a 2-0 victory over Richmond Hill with Andrew Richmond (10th ) and Ateba Edmonson (15th) scoring for Coomacka.

In the final match of the night, Tony Adams scored a brace in the 16th and 17th minutes, after James Trotman opened the scoring in the 14th minute to guide High Stars to a 3-1 victory over Silver Bullets whose lone goal was scored by John Waldron.

The action continues today with the commencement of the knockout stage of the competition.
