GABF to host FIBA level one coaching clinic from May 23

The Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) in association with Olympic Solidarity will be hosting a FIBA level one coaching clinic from May 23-30 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, according to a GABF release  yesterday. According to the release the clinic will be conducted by former NBA head coach, Tom Newell, who has “extensive experience conducting these clinics worldwide.”

The GABF is inviting all eligible coaches within the various basketball sub-associations in Berbice, Georgetown and Linden to register for participation by contacting GABF General Secretary Ian La Fargue or by e-mailing an expression of interest to gybasketballfed@gmail.com. According to the release, upon successful completion of the clinic coaches will be awarded an internationally recognized FIBA level one certificate. Space will be reserved on a first come basis for the first 40 applicants. The release noted also that the scheduled times for the clinic will be released shortly.

However, it is anticipated it would be held in the evening hours during weekdays and will be free of cost to the selected applicants.
