Theatrical Spectacular brought unseen talent to the fore – organisers

Organisers of last weekend’s ‘Theatrical Spectacular’ are boasting that it provided a forum for young and unseen performers to be acknowledged, appreciated and accredited for their talents.

A release from main organizer Sonia Noel said the show created an avenue

Charmaine Blackman as Tina Turner

for amateurs to “rally around a bonfire, as it were…”

She described the show as an exhilarating journey for lead vocalist Jackie Hanover who coursed the challenging process–from song selections to belting out notes of Etta James’ songs.

According to the release, the set was designed by Christopher Goodridge and it was very edgy; a mixture of then and now and truly spectacular.

However, it was admitted that presentation did in fact, suffer technical glitches.

Some of the acts included the talented group the Messengers who performed hits from the Temptations which had the audience applauding from the start.

“The extraordinary Jackie, the versatile Travis, the charismatic little Crystallite male dancer, the je ne sais quoi intrigue of the rapper Gaffar, the memorable Nathaya, the young and talented Jasmin Harris, the powerful Charmaine, sexy Raqayah Boyer, the smooth John Shepherd and hot stuff Timolyn Barclay,” all performed, the release said.

Theatrical Spectacular is planning to tour across Guyana and very soon Suriname.
